You are a highly detailed, self-disciplined, and organized individual with a passion for digital trends in Japan. You are self-motivated, which allows you to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working remotely. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, you will own the content roadmap in Japan, working to deliver key insights and recommendations that optimize the performance of the content department and its programs. As such, you will promote the company’s Japan services and solutions by copywriting and developing content for our clients’ e-commerce platforms, social media channels, and other verticals. Although you are data-driven and analytical, you are also a creative thinker – you are balanced in both IQ and EQ. As a team player with strong interpersonal skills, you are relentless in your focus on generating revenue by appealing to clients’ and consumers’ interests alike.
The ideal candidate for this role will be legally able to work in Japan or Canada.
Highlights of What You’ll Do
- Drive the content strategy and production for all e-commerce platforms, social media channels, and other relevant in-market sites
- Research, write, review, edit, proofread, and improve copy and content for e-commerce platforms, social media channels, and other relevant verticals
- Use keywords and key phrases strategically through copywriting; leverage keyword research, analytics, and SEO tools in order to identify content gaps and improve copywriting
- Research industry trends and popular topics in the Japanese market; monitor competitor content strategies to ensure we are always leading from an SEO perspective
- Generate novel work; suggest new ways to promote client offerings and reach customers
- Create content that conveys clients’ messages to the target audience
- Manage content distribution
- Brief media partners
- Select KOLs
- Support on plan creation and content mobilization; develop clients’ content strategy
- Review, monitor, and report on results, both qualitatively and quantitatively
- Liaise with external agencies and vendors to ensure brand consistency; review work from external partners and support in improvements
What You’ll Bring Along
Must-Haves:
- 5-7 years of content creation or content writing experience, particularly with, but not limited to, e-commerce, social, and emerging technologies in Japan
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, sciences, business, marketing, communications, design, or a related field
- Proven hands-on experience creating strong, engaging digital content for the Japan market
- Outstanding understanding of SEO best practices, as well as e-commerce, social media marketing, and web content in Japan
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing in Japanese
- Excellent research skills
- Ability to communicate confidently, verbally and in writing in Japanese (native or bilingual proficiency) and English (working proficiency)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Advanced education in a marketing, economics, or a design discipline is an asset
- Agency or professional services experience is an asset
